Welcome back to another week of sharing on behalf of Mad about Scrappin.
I must say that I really am enjoying sharing with you all every week what I have been able to create with the fun and creative kits that are sent to me by Leanne from Mad About Scrappin.
This week I have been able to play with a new line of products from Carta Bella called Well Played. Firstly all I can say that the minute I opened the sealed plastic bag the yummy smell of paper jumped out at me. Then I saw that the paper is an amazing quality and textured too.
So.. what more can I say.. pure heaven to work with!
Now.. some might say that the paper design isn't for the light hearted. The colours are a little masculine and dark. Plus the fact that they are also game themed. But this didn't stop me from creating a girlie layout with what I had to play with.
So... up for the challenge here is the full layout I created with this divine paper range.
By using both sides of the paper to create my pennants I was able to jazz up the page quite quickly. I then scrunched some natural twine ribbon up for the base of my flowers. Helped to create a bit of texture to the page and gave some more dimension. Lastly I had to add some butterflies (on my four year old's orders) to the page as no layout is complete without a butterfly! I also found that I didn't need to add a title to the page as the journal card said it all for me.
By adding in an old book page that I had laying around added a bit of extra texture to the page. I then finished the pennants off with some natural coloured twine and then punched some hearts from matching paper which were adhered using 3D foam.
Most definitely going to be playing with some more of this paper range in the next few weeks. Love how versatile it is and loved the challenge.
Have you pushed yourself out of your comfort zone lately with a new paper range you would normally use or trying a technique you haven't before ??
Time to get scrapping.
