All about the little things

Hello all Michelle here..

Down here is Adelaide, South Australia the weather has been a tad cold and wintry for sure.

Perfect weather for scrapping that's for sure.

I have been busy hiding in my scrap room.

With the lovely colours that Lydell has chosen for next months challenge I have been able to play around with a next set of stamps I got for Mother's Day and some of my favourite Helmar goodies.

I have stamped the flowers onto contrasting patterned paper then trimmed away the excess paper. I have then curled the flowers to make the petals stand out and then adhered the flowers to my layout using Helmar Liquid Scrapdots to give then varied height.

To add a little bling to the layout I have used Helmar Acid Free Glue to hightlight the edges of the flower petals and then added some fine Glamour Dust. This creates the same effect as Kindy Glitz.. but is a great alternative when you have run out of Kindy Glitz.

With a little help from Helmar and some inspiration from Lydell I was able to create this super quick and easy layout.

Sometimes is it just about creating and recording the moment, rather than worrying about all the fancy things to put on a page. Especially if you are time poor and looking for some inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope that I inspired you to get creative too.

For A Special Friend

Hello all.

Been busy here crafting my heart away.

It has been a VERY busy couple of months here with birthdays and holidays galore.

So because I have been busy making up SO many cards it got me thinking...

Why not show you every week a card I have created and also showcase a Fiskars tool and the way that I have used it.

So...

Here's is the card for this week.

Used up scraps from my stash and played around with my favourite Fiskars Interchangeable punch.

Till next week.

Happy crafting, M x

A special gift for my Mum with Love

Well.. this month was a busy one for not only me but my Mum  also.

This month not only was it Mother's Day for her but it was also her birthday.

Unfortunately for her every year her birthday either falls on the Day before or after Mother's Day and occasionally on Mother's Day!

I always however make an effort to make separate cards and celebrate both occasions separately if we can.

So this year we took my mother out for her birthday (this year was the year her birthday was the day before Mother's Day). and made her this card for her special day.

We gave her vouchers to buy her new lounge suite with for her birthday too! Which was a nice little surprise for her!

The because we didn't get a chance to see my Mum on Mother's Day (we caught up the day before and we due to see her again on the Monday following Mother's Day) I made her this card and played around with my favourite Fiskars Interchangeable punch again!

Bit hard to see the first part of the greeting on the card due to the lighting unfortunately.. but is does say SUPER MUM

I also made her a mini canvas to hang in her home... just something to remind her to smile and laughter no matter how tough things get.

Last Minute Helmar Challenge for May!

Still a few days left of this month to get your finger dirty with lotsa Helmar Adhesives.

If your looking for a challenge then why not give Helmar's May Challenge a go.

Here's the sketch for May designed by the lovely Lydell Quin

and here's my take on the sketch

I played around with my water colour pens and the Helmar Krystal Kote Fixative.

This would have to be another of my favourite products from Helmar.

Love being able to water colour digital images without worry if the ink jet printed image is going to run.

I now have loads of images printed and presprayed with Helmar Krystal Kote Fixative in a folder ready for colouring when the mood grabs me.

So....the Sketch..... you can flip it, turn it, rotate it, create a layout, a card or a canvas, anything you can think of, that this sketch can translate to....

Just remember to tell us what Helmar Products you used to create your masterpiece.
This month we will be uploading to The Helmar Face Book Page.

So all you need to do is head over to the Face Book page and upload your image.

Tag it with your information and be in the running to win a fun Helmar Prize.

Okay... so I guess I will share now....

Seeings as how the crop is today and all ... I can share now...

Here's what we will be creating.

We will be playing with lots of napkins, texture paste, butterflies and HEAPS of Helmar goodness... think we will be using the whole range of Helmar products on these canvases!

I must also say a HUGE thanks to Kate Mason for reintroducing me to my much loved napkins...

Been a while since a played with them like this, though have used plain napkin lots lately for textured look on my canvases.

Off to put the coffee pot on and wait for my girls to arrive.

Happy Scrapping, M x
