Its a wrap !

Finally here to catch you all up on the Fiskars Xmas in July Crop day we had here this weekend just gone.

Wow... what a day it was... heaps of great company and long silences where everyone had their head down scrapping up a storm.

The morning started off a little chilly... after I had set up the room with all the yummy cupcakes and cookies for morning tea I got the heater working to warm things up for every one's arrival. By 10am everyone was unpacked and raring to go with a warm cuppa in hand. We all chatted for a bit about the mountain loads of products we all purchased at the Fiskars Garage Sale a few weeks ago. The many comments were how great the bargains were and hoping that it happens here gain.

So when I finally reined in the girls from all their gas bagging we got started on the Off The Page project. The girls were so eager to make this after having seen the sneak and teasing them with what we were doing at the last crop we got straight into it. You could have heard a pin drop several times when the girls were busy cutting out the puzzle pieces.
Here's what we did....
OTP - Altered A4 Puzzle

Products and Tools used:
Heidi Grace Paper Range - Winnefred
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps - Winnefred and We are Family
Heidi Grace Acrylic Alphas
Fiskars Anvil Guillotine
Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife
Fiskars Stamp Blocks

So after lunch once everyone was refuelled and refreshed from a hot lunch. We started started on our Christmas cards. I kept the girls challenged for sure with dry and heat embossing, stamping, punching, painting and sanding galore. Some of the girls said they didn't know if I could challenge them much more than what I already do during a day, but some of the cards certainly go them thinking for sure. I don't think there wasn't a tool in the house that we didn't use !

I am pleased to say that almost all of my Christmas cards are made for this year... so much easier when you do them in July and don't stick to the idea that you only have to use Christmas papers !Why not give them a try...
So here they are...
Cards - Xmas themed

Products and Tools used-
Heidi Grace Paper Ranges - Marina Drive, Bouquet and Wildflowers
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps - Christmas
Cloud 9 Clear Stamps - Christmas Is...
Heidi Grace Squeeze Punches - Round and Round, Scallop Circle, Tag
Fiskars Stamp Press & Stamp Blocks
Fiskars Anvil Guillotine
Fiskars Trimmer
Fiskars Fingertip tweezers
Fiskars Fingertip knife
Fiskars Microtip Scissors
Fiskars Border Punch - Threaded Water

So everyone ended up leaving with their Christmas goodies, ideas for things to make, shopping lists for new tools to buy. They were also eager to find out what we are making at the next crop and make bookings ! Will get the details out to you soon ladies .. once I finish off the crop that is booked for August... which is also fully booked already. Stay posted for sneak peeks to come for that soon!

So.. I will leave you with some more photos of the fun day had by all..

Thanks again to everyone at Fiskars and the wonder Trea and Lyn for once again helping to make this crop a huge success... super huge hugs to you both. Thanks also to Fiskars for their continued support here in Adelaide. It is much appreciated for sure.

Fiskars Hits the Barossa !!

A while ago while having a discussion with my mother in law about Fiskars and the crops I hold here at my place every second month, we discussed me being able to teach a few friends of hers a few things. Well.. my mother in law lives about 1 1/2 hours away from us one way on a farm at Springton, in the Barossa. Now as much as I would love to be able to get up there to teach theses lovely ladies that have shown amazing interest there are a few things that make such a feat a little hard.
Firstly trying to juggle what would happening with my four kids while I was away for a day.
Secondly transport would be hard for myself and the ladies involved.. plus the distance of them coming here was difficult
and ...
Thirdly trying to juggle time commitment of myself, my family and all the ladies involved would have been too hard.

So bearing all this in mind.. my mother in law and I have tried an alternative. As I make up kits for the ladies who attend the crops here with full instructions and precut kits, we thought we would try the ladies in the Barossa getting together and making up the kits from the crops themselves.

So...they tried this the first time and were so excited to be getting together to scrap. Each of the kits contain an OTP item and 6 cards. As most of the ladies are fairly new to scrapbooking they work on the cards one time and get together the next time and make up the OTP item. After some of the ladies had taken there items home other have seen what they have done and they now have a nice little group of ten ladies getting together once a month to hold their own little crop.
Here's some photos taken by my mother in law of their first crop...

I just want to say a huge thanks to my mother in law for spreading the Fiskars love and helping get this crop happening. I would also love to say thanks to all the lovely ladies that attend the crop and pass on there comments about how much they are enjoying what I send them. I know that I can't be with you at the crops but think of you all on your crop days and hope you continue to enjoy the Fiskars tools and products. I am looking forward to seeing more of that you have all been up to.

Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting news about Fiskars crops that happen here in SA.

"Xmas In July" Crop Sneek Peeks !

Just to tease you some more !!!

Okay.. now remember about a week ago I posted about the goodies that I got at the Fiskars Garage Sale we had here in Adelaide ...

Well... I have a major confession...We got home after the day there and headed up to the Barossa for a week away with the kids at the farm. My MIL and I went through all her goodies and noticed that she didn't have much in the way of papers from all the goodies that she bought.... so after much discussion we decided to bundle the baby into the car the next morning at 7.30am and drive for 1 1/2hours to attack the Fiskars Garage Sale again... NUTS !!! yeah I know !!

So by 9.30 Monday morning we were there scavenging what was left... not much I must say while they packed everything that was left to head back to Melbourne... Hugs hugs to Cess and Sascha for putting up with us again and allowing us to be the scavenger we are while they madly packed after an exhausting 5 days of very hard work !! What an amazing job they did!

So just to tease you all with the extra goodies I was able to get my hands on here is its....

And here is my new baby !!!! I am sooooo in love with this... I used it last night to cut the last of the OTP packs for the crop this weekend... took me a whole 5 minutes to cut the paper needed for the kits instead of the usual half a day.. This baby cuts up to 40 sheets at a time... will make things so much quicker.

So after our 3 hour round trip... morning tea at Villi's Bakery (YUM)... baby in tow and leaving the rest of the tribe at the farm for the day.. I am pleased to say that I over 3000 sheets of paper the wiser !! and that was only the stuff I bought on this trip.... I am pleased to say though that I have sorted and packed all the goodies into my Fiskars cupboard (took me all of yesterday) and all ready for some hard core scrapping now.

Okay off to make dinner then get the last minute instructions done for the crop this weekend..

Happy Scrapping, M x

Happy Memories

Loving this paper range by Kimberley Poloson !

I love this particular one because I was able to cut out the butterflies, popped some 3D foam behind them, kindy glitz them and they the looked like they were about to fly off the page. I did the same with the flowers. I love hand cutting elements out of paper to make my own embellishments and it has been so much easier with my fingertip knife and fingertip tweezers. Now I just cut and go so easily.

Made this layout for my daughter to remember the fun times she has with her grandad who comes down to visit once a year from Cairns. They talk weekly on the phone to catch up on what they have been up to. As she gets older she seems to get busier and busier. I try and reminder to give him a call so they don't lose the friendship they do have. If anything family is very important to us.

Don't Forget The Simple Things

I am sure that my eldest DD is going to kill me when she sees this lovely photo of her on the web...lol....I just HAD to scrap it though. I am sure that she is getting sick of people snapping here at the times she looks so glamorous. We all take photos of special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas.. however we tend to forget to take photos just for the sake of recording what we do on a day to day basis. I love taking these photos the most... the unposed look, the look of normal life, capturing us when we least expect it.

In this layout below I was able to record how I like the fact that my eldest DD is comfortable enough to be herself around us. that she doesn't feel that she needs all the "airs and graces" to be herself. I have encouraged our kids to be themselves no matter what. That it is important for people to like them for who they are and not what they could be (if you know what I mean).

Why not pull out your camera and take some picture to record the silly and quirky things of a normal day in our family life.

Lucky for ...

Think sometimes we take what we have for granted. We tend to forget what we have and what we should consider ourselves lucky to have. .. Yeah probably a bit deep I know... but that is the way I scrap sometimes. I find it refreshing to do layout sometimes to record an remember what i am lucky for at the time.

Found this photo that was taken when our family was only a family of four... MY.. it seems sooooo long ago.. now we are a family of 4 + 2.. and loving every minute of it. I decided it was perfect to record what I was most grateful for at the time the photo was taken. Am planning on doing another one similar to show what I am grateful for now.

So here it is:

Products used:
Heidi Grace Reagan's Closet paper range and clear stamps
Heidi Grace Sweetest Little Bug Glitter stickers
