Just Because Cards

Sharing a few cards that I have been making for the Fiskars ANZ Blog. We have a "Card a Day" event happening there for the month of March to help celebrate Fiskars birthday. Pulled out my scraps and let loose creating some cards for special friends and family in out lives at the moment. Thought it would be a nice thing to let them know we really appreciate them.

Thanks Card
Went digging through my scraps bin today and found some of the older Fiskars Range that was begging to be played with. Decided it was time to use it up and created this card. Wanted to combine some of my newer products with the older scrap. Loved playing with this card. Now to just fill it in and send it off to my parents that have been helping us out since our 4th baby was born 9 weeks ago.

Products Used:
Heidi Grace - Pocket Scraps - Daydreamer Range
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps
Book Page
MM Noteworthy Scrap
Permanent Marker
Kaiser Pearls
Versamark Ink

Friend's Card
Played around with a few punches for this one. Used the Fiskars Funky Heart Punch to make leaves for the flower. Then punched circles in varied sizes to create the flower. A bit of distressing and the flower was created. Used my trusty faithful Fiskars Threaded Water Punch to finish the card off.

Products Used:
Heidi Grace - Love Blossoms Range
Fiskars Clear Stamps
Kindy Glitz
Stazon Ink
Kaiser Gemstones
Versamark Ink

Friend Flower Card
Created this card as a surprise for a very special person. She has been a huge support to me in getting the Fiskars Crops happening here in Adelaide. With her I don't know where I would have been. I just wanted her to know just how much she means to me.
Played around with my Fiskars Funky Heart punch and Circle Punch for this one. Created a flower from the punches, added a stamp and bling to add that bit of sparkle. Stamped a stem and the flower was done. The little bit extra on this card was the acetate word. I had kept the plastic sheet that the Heidi Grace stamps had come on knowing that one day I would use the images on it for something. The word was perfect for this card so I cut and stamped it to finish the card off. Just goes to show.. if you think outside the box.. all things can be used when you scrap.

Birthdays Galore

For the next two months it is a crazy time for us with birthdays. When the call went out for us to create cards for the Fiskars "Card a Day" them for this month I thought it was a perfect way for me to stay on top for this month. I always try and get cards to everyone on time.. though last year things went a little haywire with my pregnant brain..lol..this year I vowed that we wouldn't miss anyone and that they would all be handmade cards. There is nothing I love better than creating cards for family and friends... so here they are.

Happy Birthday Card
My daughter's best friend, Rachel, is turning twelve this month.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY RACHEL**
We have become good friends with the family and spend a lot of time with Rachel. Because of this I wanted to make her a card sending her best wishes. Creating cards for this ages range can sometimes be a challenge not make then not too "babyish". Played around with some scraps to create the card. Then added some bling to finish it off, as all girls LOVE bling ! lol. Here it is:

Products used:
Heidi Grace - Pocket Scraps - Inspire Me
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps
Fiskars Clear Stamps
Versamark Ink
Stazon Ink
Kaiser Gemstones

4 U Card
My husband's Opa has his birthday next month.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY OPA**
Because I vowed to stay ahead, I decide to make him a card for his birthday. It can be hard sometimes creating cards for older people and especially older males. So.. I went digging through my scraps and mixed things up to make this card. Why not use up some of your older stash to create some cards too.

Products used:
Heidi Grace - Pocket Scraps - Daydreamer Range
Ruler Scrap Paper
MM Noteworthy Scrap
Metal Rimmed Tag
Book Page
Versamark Ink
Stazon Ink
Buttons
Floss
Dimensional Magic

Cake Card
Once again we have another teenage birthday coming up.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELISA**
Why is it that cards for this age group can be so card to create ??? lol.. Perhaps its just the age group in general. So dug out some bright girly paper, a flower, some bling and set to work. It wasn't as hard as what I thought once I got started. Why not have a play with some bright bold colours today.

Products used:
Heidi Grace - Pocket Scraps - Girlfriend's
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps
Heidi Swapp Gemstones
Prima Flower
Versamark Ink
Stazon Ink

Make a Wish Card
This month it is the birthday of one of our Fiskars Ambassadors, Dawn Stan. She is an amazing inspiration and does some amazing work. She is very dedicated to Fiskars and it is a pleasure to work along side her.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAWN**
Lyn, Lead Ambassador, asked us to create cards for her big *40* birthday. The idea Lyn had was to create 40 cards for her. Such a great idea that I couldn't help but join the challenge. Played around with some Fiskars and Heidi Grace punches for this one. Was so much fun to play with them as I hadn't had them out for a while.
Here's my card:

Products used:
Heidi Grace - Marina Drv Range
Heidi Grace Clear Stamps

For You Card
Yet another birthday for us next month. This time around it is my husbands Oma's birthday. I wanted to make sure we didn't miss her birthday this month. She lives in a nursing home now. I wanted to card to reflect how much we love her and not just say "Happy Birthday". This paper range was perfect for that.

With All My Heart Card
A special card for a special man in my life, my darling husband Troy. He is my rock and I don't know what I would do without him.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY TROY**
Since I started scrapbooking I have made him a card for every occasion we have shared. He had gotten used to seeing a home made card sitting on his pillow for him on our special days. I love creating these cards as I know they are made with love. Why not make up a card to show that special person in your life that you love them.

A card for my special little girl

Still hard to believe that my baby.. or should I say little girl is turning two next month. I still see her as my baby, even though we have a new baby in the house.

Kiah Michelle Antoinette aged 1 1/2 yrs

I thought I would get in early and when Fiskars started with their "Card a Day" for March it gave me the perfect opportunity. I love creating cards for my kids. They really show their appreciation when they open the envelope to see what I have created just for them. Why not give this a try for that special little person.

Love Cards

Looking to create cards for the special someone in your life ? Then maybe this one I have created might give you a bit of inspiration. Why not create a card for that special someone in your life just to let them know that you love them or are thinking of them. I do this from time for my husband as we are very busy people and often don't tell each other we love each other as often as we should.

Clowning Around

This is what happens when you mix a 7 week old baby, a 23 month old, a flannel blanket and a camera together....

Don't you just love the whole "cheesecake" smile from Kiah and all...lol...

I was trying to take some pictures of Tarryn up in the scrap room as she was in such a good mood. I laid her on the floor and she had been gas bagging away to herself till Kiah thought that laying on the floor meant she had a license to maul..lol.. Plus the fact that I had the camera out so she didn't want to be left out of the photo. Heaven forbid you take a picture without her in it..lol.

Here's one of my favourite one of the two of them.. must scrap this one for sure...

Better get back to it...

Sharing the Fiskars Love Around

In an earlier post I mentioned about the appeal that was put out to the scrapbooking and card making community to create LO's for the Victorian Fire Victims. When I got the email from Julie Stone, who does the Southern Cross Kids Camps that I supply LO's for each year, about this appeal I knew that I had to help out. I was determined no matter how busy I am with school runs, playgroup, DT work, a 7 week old and a 23 mth old at home, and the general day to day tasks that we all have, that I was going to get some LO's made up.

I am lucky enough to work with an amazing team at Fiskars. I am supplied with amazing tools and products for the crops I host here in Adelaide, South Australia. I am also sent new products and tools to play with for my personal use. It was because of this wonderful team that I have developed my scrapbooking style and confidence to share what I know and love.

So with that in mind, I raided my Fiskars cupboard for inspiration and paper supplies. I began pulling out all the bright and bubbly papers to work with. I felt that these would be appropriate to cheer the fire victims up in their time of need. I also felt it would help them to create LO's to remember the happy time they need to focus on at this time.

I pulled out some of the older paper ranges such as Heidi Grace - Loving You, Inspire Me, Meadow, and Love Blossoms. I also decided right from the start to work with the sketch that was offered to use as a starting point so that I was able to create LO's that were similar, but tweaked a bit, to create in such a large quantity. Then with a little help from some ink, my cricut machine, a pile of different Heidi Grace and Fiskars Clear Stamps, Kindy Glitz and other bits and pieces I set to work. I must say that I didn't realise how many I had created until I started to count them all up at the end. I think that I even shocked myself ! It too me about 10 hours all together, but I got them all done and bagged up ready to go. I even bagged up a few extra kits I had laying around from old previous crops for them to play with.

So here is what 100.... YES !! you read correctly.. 100 LO's look like....Kinda hard to take a "group" picture of all the LO's.. My kitchen table was over flowing...lol.. I now understand why I felt so stuffed when they were all done..

I am so happy to be able to provide LO's for this cause. With the donations of money, toys, clothing and the offer of accommodation my family has made to the appeal I feel that we have all been able to help out just that little bit. Remember if you wish to donate LO's to the Victorian Fire Victims Appeal to check out this site for more information:

http://sares1911.wordpress.com/

I hope that everyone that is still at risk, stays safe. I also pray for rain and change in weather conditions to help them out. Remember that we are all thinking of you at this time.

Cheers M x
