Creative Inspiration - Week 52

Hello.

I hope that everyone is having a super Christmas.

Super busy here with kids going back and forth to visit and family over that I am really glad I got organised with all my scrap work in advance.

Anyways... I have played around with some more of this kit to create a layout for you.

I felt very honoured to be able to create this layout using another photo from the family at my daughters Calisthenics. This layout I have created used a photo of the father and new born son of the family. I felt very humbled to be able to create this layout.
Because this was to be a more masculine layout I have played around with a piece of base board as the base for this layout. I then used some texture paste and a wall stencil to create the base. Then it was a matter of layering gesso and three different glimmer mists till I was happy.

I have also played around with a pile of old number stickers that I have had laying around in my stash for ages. I have coloured them all black to make them uniform in that sense and adhered them randomly.

Once the photo was adhered onto some of the matching tags and patterned paper I then played around with a mix of wood veneer, some kraft photo corners and matching word stickers from the pack.

Finally I finished the whole layout off with a few cork stars and bordered the whole layout with some washi tape. I love the colours on this layout as it helps to focus on the subjects in the photos.

Well better get back to celebrating Xmas.

Merry Christmas all.

Creative Inspiration - Week 51

Hello all.
I hope that you are all getting sorted for the festivities ahead.

Here I have been working away getting Xmas gifts sorted and getting scrap work all up to date so that I can enjoy some family time during Christmas.

This created some cute tags to jazz up some gifts for Calisthenics teachers and a card too using some more of this versatile paper range.

So here's what I have created....

So I have used some matching tags in the same paper range as a base and then built the tags up from there with a mix of patterned paper, paper Xmas doily, some digital quotes I printed onto some patterned paper from the range, some gold foil Xmas tags (the soldier), and some wood veneer stars. I have then finished the whole thing off with some bakers and garden twine.

Super quick.. super easy but finished off the gifts nicely.

Have you managed to get some crafting done this year for Xmas ?

I love doing it as it helped get me in the mood for Xmas.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 50

Hello all.

It is so hard to believe that Xmas is almost here.
I have been busily craft my little hands off to get things sorted around here in preparation for the end of year celebration at school.

I have been lucky to be able to play around with some more of this paper range sent to me
from Mad About Scrappin.

Every year the kids like to be able to give gifts to their school friends. This year with my youngest at school too we have had to make up gifts for three classes. So with that is mind we kept it rather simple this year. Plus we were also lucky to be able to find a few bits and pieces pre-made for the gifts so I was able focus on the craft element of the gifts. So this is what we came up with this year for my children's class mates and teachers.
We had to make 90 of the little gift bag toppers for the school friend and then 3 tags for the teachers. Luckily on of the children helped me to fill the bags and my Mum kindly helped me to attach the bag toppers to the goodie bags. The goodie bags were the most labour intensive.

I have to admit to quite enjoying making the tags for the peppermint jars. I found that the jars looked quite festive already so I didn't want to wrap them to hide that. As I had to make three tags I wanted to keep it simple.

I started with a base tag made from Kraft coloured card and used some tan/white patterned paper from the paper range as the base pattern. I then stamped the greeting near the top of the tag. I then adhered a smaller piece of white/black patterned paper on top. I found the small gold gift tags with the soldier on them at Ikea a while ago. I have added them to the tag to add a bit of sparkle. I have then stamped the photo corner randomly and then added them with some small wood veneer stars to finish off the tag. I have then tied them to the jar using a mix of garden twine and some bakers twine to give it a bit of a rustic look.

I am quite pleased with the end result of our gifts this year.

Super fun and quite easy to make.

Well... better get the home gifts all sorted now.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 49

Okay... I am just a tad excited to be able to share with you all this month...

Firstly because the Christmas season has started in my house hold and our days are filled with making parcels for friends and family and sharing special moments together.

And SECONDLY.... because I have some layout that I LOVED doing using this REALLY REALLY yummy kit sent to me by the lovely Leanne at Mad About Scrappin.

Just a little aside about the layout I have created this week..
Firstly they are not my children
(I do have permission to show them)
AND I didn't take the beautiful photos
(photos courtesy of Laura Keays)
I am lucky to know this little family of four beautiful girls and one super cute baby boy, through the Calisthenics group that my girls attended weekly. So the week that my kit arrived to play with I saw these stunning photos that were just PERFECT for this paper range. How could I not use them! So I asked and have been able to share with you one a few layout I have created using this paper range of this gorgeous family.

So here is the first for you this week.
I have matted some white card stock onto some matching maroon card stock to give a bit of colour pop in the background. I have also added some bold black accents and washi tape to give some contrast to this layout. I have used almost all the patterns from this paper range to create a strip background for this layout. I have also added some matching alpha ticker strips I have had for ages in my stash along with a die cut frame I have coloured black.

I have used one of the 3x4 patterned journal cards with the numbers on it to create the title for this layout. I have circled the number 4 with gemstones and then finished off the title with some matching alpha stickers from my stash.

I have then used some of the matching alphas stickers and die cuts fro the kit to add a few accents to the page mounted with 3D foam.

I love how this layout has come together.

Thanks again to the Jobson Family and Laura for allowing my to use the images.
I hope that your family enjoys the layouts.

Till next week.

Get Scrapping.
