Creative Inspiration - Creative Card Fun

Okay.. so just a super quick post today as I am on placement once again and running after a room full of toddlers.

Have had a few cards to create this month so used some of the Pink Fresh Studio - Up in the Clouds paper range to get creative.

I had two cards to create... one for a wedding and one for my youngest daughters 7th birthday.
This paper range was perfect for create two cards with a very unique different feel to them. Both cards were created on a recycled card base as I love the look that it gives the cards.

Because of the whimsical feel to the paper range it was perfect for creating a birthday card for my youngest. I have matted a piece of the mixed patterned paper from the range on some of the pink card stock used to stabilise the embellishment kit (waste not want not I say!). My daughter is a mad keen fan of care bears, so I had to work an image of her new care bear, Grumpy, into the card some how. I have printed an image onto some Canson paper and hand coloured the image. The mounted in on the card using some 3D foam tape. The little wood veneer umbrella that was in the kit was a perfect accent for this card too to finish it off.

Now one of the patterned papers in the stash had a house image which I have cut out to add to this card. Being the card was for a wedding I thought it was fitting. I have them teamed together two different coloured mini paper doilies that I had in my stash that worked perfectly with the colours in this kit. Then it was just a case of layering the paper flowers in the kit on some bowed garden twine to give it a a more rustic fun feel.

As I said.. very quick post sharing two fun cards.
Love being able to use up all the kit I receive by creating a few cards.

Well better get back to it.

Till I get to sharing the last layout from this paper range.

Creative Inspiration - Using up some of my stash

Good Morning all.

Hope that you have had a good start to the day.

Today I would like to share with you another layout I have created on behalf of Mad About Scrappin using  the paper range by Pink Fresh Studio called Up in the Clouds.

Once again I have played around with a Kraft card stock base for this layout. I have used some photos taken recently of my eldest daughter Yr12 formal. So here's the layout I have created to share....
I have stamped the base of the Kraft card stock with a graph stamp as I felt the Kraft background looked a little bare. I have then teamed the Kraft card stock with some of the pink patterned paper from the paper range that had the words I wanted to use as the title for my layout. I have matted the larger photo and then used two smaller Polaroid frames to frame two smaller photos I wanted to add to the layout.

The kit came with this fun wood veneer tag. It was perfect to add a little accent to this layout. I added some black and white bakers twine to it which adds to the whimsical feel of this layout.

I have had a pile of chipboard die cut circles and circle frames in my stash for what seems like forever. So I have pulled them all out and covered them in the matching paper from this paper range to create a little bit of depth to the layout. They tied in nicely with the flairs and finished off the layout easily.

I had fun creating this layout to share and cannot wait to show you the next layout.

Till next time.

Creative Inspiration - New Years Greeting!!!!

WOW!!!! Still in a bit of shock that it is now 2016.

I hope that this finds you all well and not too under the weather from seeing in the new year.

On behalf of Mad About Scrappin, I would like to wish you a happy and prosperous 2016.

I have a quick share today using the very last bits and pieces from the Simple Stories - Summer Vibes paper range.

Here's today's super quick and simple layout.
I have used a black card stock matted kraft base as the the base for this layout. I quite like this effect as it is a quick way to add a bit of a border to the layout easily. I have also matted my 4'x4' photo in black to tie it all together.

Then it was as simple as layering up a mix of journal cards and tags to jazz up the layout. Then I added a die cut wooden Polaroid frame to pope my title in and brightened it up with a word flair from my stash that matched perfectly.

I have also added two different washi tapes for a bit of fun too. Then finished off the layout by dding in these fun die cut wooden stars.

Super simple but a fun way to star the year before things become too crazy again.

Hope you all get a chance to relax and enjoy the first day of 2016.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Summer Fun Kit

Good afternoon all.

I have been having fun over the past few days working with a new kit that the lovely Leanne has sent me to play with.  It included some of the awesome paper range by Simple Stories - Summer Vibes.
I must say that when I saw this kit I was just a tad excited to be able to play around with it. It is perfect for scrapping this time of the year and I cannot wait to share with you all what I have got planned to use up this kit.

So today I am sharing with you a layout that I have created using one of the 12x12 sheets as the base for the layout...
I have trimmed the paper just a little to matt it onto some kraft card stock as I felt that I wanted to add some kraft feel to the layout. Plus I quite like adding a little bit of a border to the layout when I am using pattern paper for the base of a layout as I feel it breaks it up a little.

As you can see to the paper range really does have a real summery vibe to it. I love the mix of the slightly muted bold colours on the wood grain base.

I have also used some wood die cut Polaroid photo frames to showcase the photos on this layout. I printed my photos off as black and white so that they matched well with the papers in the range.

I added in some journal cards that matched perfectly with their distressed heart pattern colours to the colours in the paper range. The little kraft journal card also helped tie the kraft base to the layout too. I have also hand stitched the layout to add a bit of detail to the layout.

I have  also played around with a mix of washi tapes from my stash which match the paper range to follow the patterned theme on the printed paper base.

This was such a fun paper range to play with and certainly has a fun summery feel to it. I cannot wait to share with you all the other goodies I have been creating with it.

Till then... I hope that you all get a chance to get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Using up the scraps

Hello all.

I hope that everyone has had a great weekend.

Here my weekend has been extremely busy with being in the middle of placement and having two children's birthday in the part week. To top it all off I have had my eldest daughter's 18th birthday party!!! Yes.... WOW!!! still hard to believe that she is 18 years old!!!!

Anyways.. now that the house and yard are finally back to some sort f normality I have finally had a chance to sit down and get some blogging sorted.

So... I have a quick share with you this evening showcasing an old layout I haven't shared yet which I have created using the last scraps from Prima Coffee Break Pattern Paper Range by Pebbles that Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent me to play with.

So here's the layout I have created to share.

I had quite a lot of fun playing around with the scraps to create this layout. It was also fun to play with multiple photos for this layout. However I have kept them to 3'x3' in size so that they haven't taken over the whole layout.

As I was using up the scraps of the paper range I really didn't have a lot of paper to play with. Because of this I had decided to create something a little different. I have divided the centre part of the layout into sections and decorate each section a little different. This all came about because I had a couple of mini paper bags that I had been sent play with which I wanted to be a feature on this layout. I have been able to use them as the base for two of the six section on this layout.

I have played around and added some matching washi to the mini paper bags and then tied all the sections together with a bit of hand stitching in matching coloured floss. The whole layout ended up with a little bit of a different feel with a mix of embellishments used. I then have finished off the layout using some flairs and some large matching buttons to add a bit of dimension

Just something a little bit different to use up the bits of scraps that I just couldn't part with.

Well.... back to get ready for another fun filled busy week.

Hope you enjoyed this weeks share.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Creating with strips

Hello again.

I am looking forward to sharing with you today a layout I have created using the Prima Coffee Break Pattern Paper Range by Pebbles.

So without further ado...
This time around I have played around with some of the patterned paper for the base of the layout which I have matted on cream card stock. Once again I have added some bright neon green washi to add a bit of pop to the page.

I have added a white shipping tag for the base of my title which I have stamped with some roses which match the floral pattern on the paper. I have then clustered the matching paper flowers that Leanne sent me with a super cute butterfly. I love the journal cards that come on on of the 12'x12' sheets in the paper range. They are subtly patterned and easily add a little extra.

Once again I have stitched on this layout. I quite like the look of  stitching to add details on a layout.
I loved using this paper range for the photos of my kids from the summer holidays. They have a really summery feel with the colours in this paper range.

Well off to sort out some more blog posts.

Till I share again.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Bit of a change... always good.

Yes... I know... I didn't get a post up for last Friday...

Huge apologies but things have been bedlam here and I seem to be chasing my tail. Everything was done, as I have a few older layouts created from a kit that had missed being shared.

Plus I want to be able to share the work that has been missed but will share the layouts over a few days so that I don't have posts that are too photo heavy.

So... I would like to share with you this week, three layouts that I have created using the Prima Coffee Break Pattern Paper Range by Pebbles. I loved working with this paper range. There were so many elements on the background paper that create a bit of interest on the base layout.

Today I would like to share this layout I have used some of the patterned for the base which I have matted on some black card stock. Now because the base paper is patterned I have only added a few smaller pieces of the contrasting paper from the range to the layout.
For this layout I have used photos from the start of the school year. I don't normally work with this many photos so I have printed these off to smaller sizes to make them work with this layout. I have also used some brighter plain washi tape to add a bit of pop to the dark background.

I love using coloured paper doilies on layouts. I find they add a little bit of colour pop quite easily without any huge effort. I have then used some of the patterned paper to create a tag for the sub title of my layout and finished the title off with some chipboard numbers.

I love the die cut wooden typewriter. I have added it to the journal card I have stamped and some cute pink typewriter washi tape. I have also hand stitched on this layout to add a bit of a feature of the added paper strips.

I quite like having a play with the paper range I think because the patterned base gave me a great base to start from with decorating the layout.

Well... better get back to it.

Looking forward to sharing again tomorrow the next layout in this paper range.

Creative Inspiration - Week 41 2015

Happy Friday everyone.

It's almost the end of the school holidays here in South Australia. It has been a crazy time here and I feel like I need a holiday to get over the school holidays. I have been busy playing catch up around the house and yard, getting prepared for placement in the next term and catching up with my much neglected Project life folder for 2015. However, I have managed to find some time to sneak in a quick page this week using the last of the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range that Leanne sent me to play with.

I have quickly created this layout this week using the last scraps from the paper range using a photo of Mr J that I love.
I don't seem to get a chance to scrap boy layout that often. When I do I seem to struggle at times to work out how to embellish them. I also seem to over think the layouts sometimes. This layout I can say took me half hour from start to finish. It was literally a pop the scraps of the page in the sizes that were already cut and away we go. I just went with it and really didn't take too much time thinking about it. I also messed around with a little bit of ink splattering too.

I have used some more of the cute black and white newspaper print washi to frame the layout which I have created on a Kraft card stock base.  I love too how the colours of paper from the Carte Bella paper range that were left just worked perfectly with the photo that I had pre-printed without much effort too. Because I have been doing some spring cleaning here I have been using up the last odds and ends of old medium sized alpha stickers. I have used some to create a bit of interest on the layout. I also felt it helped to tie the bold black jacket in the photo to the layout itself. As most of the layout was flat I have added some dimension with the bakers twine and then finished it off with the word flair I had been sent to play with.

I love these little kraft journal spots too. i have quite a few in my stash. The add that little extra without too much effort. During my cleaning out I have found my dymo which has been hidden under my stash so I have added a few words as a bit of a feature on the page. It was fun to play with again as I am kinda over using alpha stickers at the moment, after all the Project Life stickers I have been playing with. Will be rethinking how to add details to my Project Life next year I think.

Anyways... sometimes it isn't about being able to spend a whole day scrapping... sometimes its just about finding the time to get a quick job done in half an hour to be able to relax.

Why not set aside a half hour today to get creative and relax.

Till next week,

TFL, M x

Creative Inspiration - Week 40 2015

Well... so starts another month. It seems that this year is just whizzing by before my eyes.

This month is going to be a another made and crazy month I can already see. First up we have my eldest finishing her school career in a couple of weeks. Then its my son's 12th birthday. Then to end the month, I have my eldest daughter's 18th birthday with a big party planned to boot !!!! But on top of it all I have placement for TAFE at the same time as this madness!!!!! Oh my... really hope to stay on top of things this month that's for sure.

Anyways... I have been creating with the last bits and pieces of the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range sent to me by Leanne.

This week I have created a pocket page using a mix of the papers from the range.
I quite like making pocket page layouts as it is something a little different. I also find it the easiest way to be able to use more than one 4'x6' photo on a page without it looking too crowded. Plus the fact that you are able to personalise each pocket too. I used the patter paper to matt each photo too and printed the photo with minimal colours so that the colours in the patterned paper shine.

I have used a mix of bits and bobs to personalise each pocket that was free of a photo. I have used a mixed up the title for the layout using a die cut chipboard word and some medium sized alpha stickers. I have tied them all together by colouring them all black to match. I have also added some black newspaper print washi to add a bit of interest into the background on the card.

I love layering coloured and white paper doilies at the moment. Adds a bit of dimension and colour easily. I have them adhered them to a graph journal card that I have printed with some digital stamps. Then finished off this pocket by adding a wood grain wreath I have coloured black and some matching paper flowers.

The final pocket I kept simple as I found the pattern on the paper was a bit busy already with the frames. Once again I have layered up some paper doilies and then added a die cut butterflies from my stash. The pocket was then finished off with a journal spot from the paper range.

Quick a bit of fun to create and ended up having a bit of different feel to this layout in the end. I think the little pops of black and the brighter red paper doilies give it a different bold feel.

Well... off to get some cards made for the upcoming birthdays.

Looking forward to sharing some more this month.

Take care, M x

Creative Inspiration - Week 39 2015

Back again for another week of sharing what I have been up to on the scrapping front.

With the start of the school holidays upon us here in Adelaide I ma hoping to be able to get some scrapping time... fingers crossed.

Well.. anyways.. this week I am once again back to share with you what I have created using some more of the Carte Bella - Moments and Memories paper range.

So here's the layout I have created to share this week.....
This time around I have teamed the paper range up with some book pages from my stash. I have also  used a piece of black card stock as my base for a bit of a contrast and to make the papers pop out from the background. I also added in a graph journal card from my stash to base. The paper range worked perfectly with the colours of this photo I had of my youngest daughter.

I love the look of the florals in this paper range. I also love how well all the papers in the range coordinate. I decided to use all the papers from the range by using strips to mix it up a little. I have layered them and border punched on to add a bit of feature to the strips.

To give this layout a softer touch I have used some white and pale teal flowers teamed with a journal spot from the paper range. I then added an acetate heart and some kraft stickers to create the title for the layout. This gave the layout a little softer touch, as the black card stock is quite bold as a base for this. I love the look of  book pages on a layout too.

I love the feel of this paper range too as it is slightly textured. I have still a little bit more of this range left to play with too.

Well... hope like me you get a chance to get creative.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 38 2015

Good morning everyone.

Hope that this week finds everyone well.

I have been busily scrapping my little fingers off. I seem to have my mojo back and am glad to be able to have a play around with some more of this super yummy Carte Bella paper range that Leanne sent me to play with.

This week I have create a layout to share with you all and here it is...
I have played with the floral papers from the range this week and teamed it up with cream and black. I love adding that little bit of black and cream, or white, to a layout as it adds a little bit of a bold feature to the layout. I even cut the base layout done and then mounted the whole layout onto black card stock.

I cut out some circles from black chipboard to add a bit of feature to the layout and then hand stitched with some matching floss to the chipboard circles. I also found a "&" symbol in my stash and decided to use that for my title. I have covered it in some of the matching paper from the range.

There are some of these cute little journal spots in the paper range. I have managed to use one of there to add a date to my layout to finish it all off.  I also added some hand stitching to the layout to add a few feature here and there.

I had a blast creating this layout and cannot wait to play around with a bit more bits and pieces that have been sent to me this month.

Hope that you all get a chance to scrap and play this weekend like I hope to.

Till next week.
