Creative Inspiration - New Years Greeting!!!!

WOW!!!! Still in a bit of shock that it is now 2016.

I hope that this finds you all well and not too under the weather from seeing in the new year.

On behalf of Mad About Scrappin, I would like to wish you a happy and prosperous 2016.

I have a quick share today using the very last bits and pieces from the Simple Stories - Summer Vibes paper range.

Here's today's super quick and simple layout.
I have used a black card stock matted kraft base as the the base for this layout. I quite like this effect as it is a quick way to add a bit of a border to the layout easily. I have also matted my 4'x4' photo in black to tie it all together.

Then it was as simple as layering up a mix of journal cards and tags to jazz up the layout. Then I added a die cut wooden Polaroid frame to pope my title in and brightened it up with a word flair from my stash that matched perfectly.

I have also added two different washi tapes for a bit of fun too. Then finished off the layout by dding in these fun die cut wooden stars.

Super simple but a fun way to star the year before things become too crazy again.

Hope you all get a chance to relax and enjoy the first day of 2016.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Christmas Greetings to all

On behalf of Mad About Scrappin I would like to wish everyone a super special Christmas.

I hope that everyone has the opportunity to rest and relax even if it is just for a little while on this mad and crazy day of the year.

I know that I am feeling grateful to be able to share this special day with my children and parents this year. I am looking forward to seeing the smiles on my children's faces and will be soaking up the family time together.

I have a layout to share with you all today using some more of the Summer Vibes paper range by Simple Stories.

Now who says that you have to use Christmas paper to create a Christmas layout.... certainly not me!

Here's the fun layout I have created using a photo from Christmas 2014.
I have used a cream card stock as the base for this layout which I have stamped using a graph stamp randomly to add some detail in the background. I have also used a paper doily from my stash made from kraft paper. I have had it for ages and just haven't had a chance to play with them.

for the larger circles on the page I have adhered the soda pop lid print to some medium sized die cut chipboard circle to add some depth to the layout. I have then stamped a circle journal stamp to create a bit of interest behind the stamp and set the chipboard circle so the some of the stamped journal spot shows. I have then used some of the scraps of the mixed patterns in the range to create some Christmas baubles which I have added bakers twine bows to. It's a little hard to see but there even is a little bit of hand stitching on the layout to add a bit of detail here and there.

Finally I have added a kraft journal spot with the date the photo was taken and a flair to add a bit more dimension to the page. I have also stamped some matching Christmas trees onto the matching paper and hand cut then. These I then mounted using 3D foam dots.

I quite like the feel of this Christmas themed layout created from paper that IS NOT Christmas themed. Why not think out the box every now and then.

Well hope that everyone enjoys the festivities.

Till next time.

Creative Inspiration - Layering it up

Yes.... I know... this post WAS supposed to be up last Friday!

I tell you.. things have been crazy around here. I am sure that most of you have had the same issues with running around like crazy people trying to get everything done before Christmas.

I admit that I had this layout precut and sorted well in advance but I just haven't had a chance to put the layout all together until a few days ago.

Anyways.. as I said I had precut this layout using some more of the Summer Vibes paper range by Simple Stories I was sent to play with on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

So here is the layout I created to share with you all.
I created this layout on a kraft cardstock base. I quite like the feel that kraft can give to a layout. I have also used a few pops of black and white to give it all a bit of contrast.

By layering a few different embellishments it creates a fun fee to the layout. I have used a mix of kraft journal spots, shipping tags and some washi tape onto a graph journal card for a bit of fun with this layout.

I have finished the layout off with a cute little matching flair I found in my stash. I love the extra bit of dimension that flairs give to layout.

Quite a quick layout to create but at least I got my scrapping fix this week.

Till next time.

Creative Inspiration - A Really Summery Feel

Hello all.

Back again this week sharing with you three layouts I created a while back using a summery feeling fun kit sent to me by the lovely Leanne.

I was lucky to have all these goodies sent to me to play with...
How yummy do these papers look!!! I have to admit to being a little unsure of the wood grain paper though. However once I actually played with it the layout came together really easily.

The embellishments in this kit really added to the summery feel of this layout. I love the mix of mellow yellow with the aqua and blue

So here's the first layout I created using my goodies.
I have worked with a white card stock base. I found that once I had added the patterned paper strips that There was too much white so used some of the mellow yellow washi tape to "fill in" the white and think the washi has added to the feel of the page.

On my journal card I have played around with a pile of old number stickers from my stash. I have coloured the numbers all black to make them uniform in colour and to tie in to the black accents I have added. How cute too is the little wooden die cut word !!

I then finished off the layout with some aqua glitter alphas I had in my stash that matched perfectly with this paper range.

Now the next layout was where I really tested myself by using the wood grain patterned paper as the base for this layout. I trimmed it slightly to matt in on some Kraft card stock to give it a plain border.I have then used some of the matching papers to brighten the base up a little.

I love the sun burnt orange colours in the accents in this kit too. I have added the the journal spot and jazzed it up with the matching flairs and buttons to add some dimension to the layout.

I am still loving the coloured doilies too. I have tucked one in under the matted photo on this layout and then brightened it up with some of the matching washi for this layout.

For the last layout I have stuck with the mellow yellow and aqua on a kraft base. I love this mellow yellow colour as it isn't really too bold a colour. I kept my photo black and white for this layout as I really wanted to colours in the paper to shine.

I played around with some more of my number stickers for a base on some slightly more tan coloured kraft card stock. My title I made with a mix of the aqua glitter alphas and medium alphas stickers.

To add a bit of depth to the page I played around with a wax paper bag and a kraft coloured tag. I finished the tag off with a matching dark aqua journal spot from the kit.

Super fun summery feel kit to play with.

Well back to creating some more bits and pieces.

Till next time.

Creative Inspiration - Playing with glitter

Good morning all.

I am back this week once again to share with you all three layout that I haven't had a chance to share yet that I created using these super yummy goodies sent to me by
the lovely Leanne, from Mad About Scrappin.
I have been able to create 3 layout using all these plus a few extras from own stash.

My first layout I have created using a piece of black card stock as the base for the layout from my own stash. I have cut away the centre of the black card stock base to use some to matt the larger photo in this layout. I have then used matt white card stock as a base then cut some of the patterned paper to break up the white matt card stock. I love the mix of aqua and this peachy colour. I think that they work really well together with the gold accents that I have added to the layout. I must say too that I love the little handmade Polaroid die cut that was in the kit too. It is super cute with the gold and aqua accents which have been finished off with some hand stitching detail.

For the second layout I have worked with the gold glitter heart accented paper as the base for this layout. Now as you know I don't usually like to work with patterned paper as the base for a layout. However for this layout I really didn't want to cut the gold heart paper any smaller and loose all the glitter hearts. So I have then worked with the side of the heart paper that had the most hearts and then teamed it with some of the matching papers in strips to break it all up a little. I have also printed my own journal card to match using a digital stamp on a graph journal card. I have to say too I love how the aqua colour of the patterned paper worked perfectly with the photo I had chosen.

For the last layout I have once again worked with some black cardstock from my own stash to team up with the black dotted white white paper in the kit. I have then worked with some more of the aqua and accented the page with some printed ticket stubs and hand stitching in matching peach floss. The layout was then finished off with a bit of bling, flairs created to match the paper range and a super cute wood veneer camera.

I quite enjoyed working with this paper range. I love the glittered accents that were in this kit. Not something I would normally play with but loved the challenge.

Well back to get some scrapping done.

Hope you all get a chance to get creative this weekend.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 30 2015

Good afternoon all.

No.. I hadn't forgotten to set this to go online this morning... Unfortunately the weather here is Adelaide has been miserable making taking photos a horror. I like to be bale to photograph my work outside in the natural light as I find I don't have to play around with the photos as much and it shows the true colours a lot better.

Anyways.. enough of reasons why I was a little late getting this online today.

I have a new paper range share with you today that I have been luck to have been sent by the lovely Leanne from Mad About Scrappin.

Here it is Crate Paper - Open Book range.

Now having my time a little slim this week with starting back at TAFE and major lots of meeting plus the added fact that my mojo seems to have taken a holiday without me due to exhaustion..lol..
I have kept it simple and created a pocket layout using some pocket pages that Leanne had popped in my parcel.
I have to say I quite enjoyed creating this pocket page. I was able to come back to it in stages and do what I felt like doing at the time. I think I kinda found my mojo am feel like scrapping again. Which I must say I am most excited about as I have quite a few things due in the next month.

I also got a chance to use up some of my mini paper paper bags from Mad About Scrappin whilst creating this too. I finds they are perfect for adding bits and pieces to pocket pages with ease. Perfect too for hiding little bits of journaling too. I love the floral paper in this range too. Whilst the flowers were quite large they were perfect for hand cutting. I have cut  a few out and layered them in a couple of the pockets using some 3D foam to add some dimension. I then scattered some mixed sequins to add a bit of sparkle.

I also had a bit of fun with some old rub ons from my stash to create a bit of interest in the pockets. I have used a mix of larger black and mixed lighter green rub on alphas first on the card for the pockets and then added some of the green alphas to the butterfly.

Because I didn't want to have photos in any of the pockets I decided to go with a quote. I have used a mix of mini alphas stickers, acrylic alphas and a chipboard word to create the quote.

I love being able to layer paper doilies. I was super excited when Leanne had the mini coloured doilies on sale at Mad About Scrappin. I bought a pack in every colour and must say that I MUST get more. They are just so cute and the colours they come in are just stunning!!!

Well... whilst my mojo is here I had better get scrappin.

Till next share.

Have a super weekend.

Creative Inspiration - Week 22 2015

Hello... Hello...

Well... with the end of another month comes the last of another paper range to share.

I have very much used up every last teenie little bit of the Princess paper range by Echo Park this month. I loved playing around with this paper range for sure on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

So here's the layout I have to share.
I have used up the last bit and pieces to create a layout about my daughter recent birthday party. The paper range worked really well with the party photos. The layout has a bit of a different feel to it as well with the "sections" that have been set up with this design. It was also a little different for me to use multiple photos and for the photos to be this small too.

I really love the tea cup and teapot stickers from the matching sticker set as they tied in with the tea party theme of my daughters party.

I have also added some stitched detail to the layout. It had added a patch work effect and has added to the whimsical feel to the layout. It was also a perfect way to tie all the little scraps of patterned paper together too.

The matching stickers in this range as just so cute. I have used one of the stickers, the "girl" pennant flag, as the main part of my title. I have adhered it using some 3D foam tape and finished off the title with some large alpha stickers.

I have finished off the layout by using the matching stickers in the range. To create a bit of interest, I have adhered them with 3D foam tape.
AND.... I have to admit to not being a sticker person HOWEVER...I love this carriage sticker it is just so cute and the sticker are just perfect in this paper range too..

To finish off the layout I have added in the date the party happened. I love adding in the date on some of my layouts too using a date stamp. I find this the perfect way to document when the events happen too.

Had a ball playing with the last bits and pieces from this paper range. I am a little sad that this is finished.

However am looking forward to sharing with you a new paper range to start the next month.

Well... better get back too getting my scrap work done.

Thanks for stopping by.

Creative Inspiration - Week 10 2015

Hello everyone.

Wow... March already... this year just seems to be zooming past.

This week I am back to share with you a new kit that I was sent to play with
by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin.
The kit was full of lots of goodies to play with from the "Something Wonderful" collection
by Teresa Collins.

So here's the layout I have created this week.
I have stuck with two of the colours from the kit to create this layout. I have teamed the colours up with some black and white card stock, as I wanted to colours to pop out. On the white card stock I have grabbed an old Kaiser flower stamp set and stamped a mix of the different size flowers. I then stamped some of the same flowers onto some water colour paper using Staz on ink. I then gave them a light spray with fixative then water coloured them to match with the patterned paper. They have then been adhered to the page using 3D foam to create dimension.

Hidden just behind the white tag is another little paper bag from my stash. I wanted to add some pink to this layout as I love black, white, red and pink together. I have then added a mix of washi tape, red and white twine and a cute little chalkboard pennant flag to finish it all off.

I finished off the stamped flowers by add some teenie sequins that Leanne sent me for last months kit. They were so cute and were perfect to add that little bit of sparkle to the centre of the flowers.

Super quick layout create but had fun playing around with some older stamps and some water colour to tie the layout all together.

Well back to getting some scrap work done.

Till next week.
