First post for a new design team !!!

Okay.. can share a little news with you all if you haven't noticed it so far on my blog...

I have made it onto a new design team!

I have been lucky to have been offered a spot on the design team for Amy Mattes Designs.

She does some amazing work with digital kits. You can can find her work here for sale at really affordable prices too!

This month I was given the opportunity to play with the Printable Bloom Flower Clip art Graphics. Talk about being really yummy to play with and hand cut!

So here's the layout I came up with..

I printed my own digi paper by using the blooms to create a background paper using the flowers repetitively on a blank document. I also printed to scallop in large format and then hand cut two scallop borders out. I then used my 1/4" circle hand punch to punch out the holes.

Here's a close up of some of the flowers..

I gave them a bit of dimension by layering two different sizes and then adhering them down using Helmar Zapdots. Couldn't leave them all flat and boring!

Why not head over to Amy Mattes Designs to check out the shop and what everyone else has created.

Making a big Helmar mess!

Okay.. I can share a sneak peek of this with you all now !

It has gone to it's new home in Port Lincoln.. though where it is going to be displayed is in much debate in it's new home!

It's a canvas I created for my Sister and niece.

Here's a close up of the flowers I made using plenty of Helmar favourites to embellish the canvas

Was very pleased with the final effect and the texture on it was amazing.

I know my job was made a lot easier with the help of some Helmar adhesives!

To check out the full canvas, head over to the Helmar Design Team blog.

Mojo on fire...

A quick one I managed to get finished before I headed off to a weekend retreat.

Discovered a cute little Asian shop at local shops that sells these really yummy bunches of flowers. Played around with them on this layout.

Needless to say I now have % different bunches of them and plans to buy some more next time I go there.

Another fun weekend here in Adelaide scrap booking away with some lovely ladies.

It was great to be able to fill everyone in on new Fiskars tools and play with some older ones.

We created something quite simple... YES Ladies I hear you all laughing!!!!.. NOTE TO SELF... re read instructions once finishing typing (giggle giggle)! All proves I AM HUMAN !!! lol..lol..

Escape2Create Fun!

Just a quick one to show you the layouts I created during classes at Escape 2 Create a few weekends ago.

Two Single Layouts - Fran's Class
Lots of masking tape, tickets and stamping. Really yummy stamp set too that we got to keep!

Loved making these butterflies.. Just so easy too but very effective.

Double Layout - Tatum's Class

Close Up - saved my cupcake decoration flag and added it to the layout. It was too cute to throw away and worked with this layout too.

Lot's of paint, pinwheels, buttons and doilies. Was so much fun the play and make such a mess
Plus had to adhere mine with my favourite Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots too.. added that extra dimension!

Both were very different classes. I LOVED them both and I am most impressed that my photos worked really well with each of them too. (We only got a tiny sneak peek and I only brought one set of photos for each class)

Thanks again ladies for an amazing weekend. DEFINITELY hope to be one of the lucky ones to make it into the next one. MWAH xxx

Card for my Poppett

Today is my little Poppett's birthday (aka Kiah).

What is a birthday without a home made card.

I decided to play around with the new Fiskars Everywhere Punch that I had demonstrated at a Spotlight Roadshow just a few weekends a go.

I must say they punch nice and cleanly through heavy weight card stock like a breeze. So much fun to use and SO EASY!

Plus when I am stamping I always have my Fiskars Stamp Press on hand.

I also used my FAVOURITE Helmar products

Helmar Liquid Scrap dots

and

my Helmar Glue Spreader -- did you know they make REALLY good paint spreaders that clean up easier than a paint brush! Just blob you paint directly onto your card base and spread away. Then wipe off excess paint with a baby wipe.. all clean! and if your like me... no paint pot of water to knock over!)

Here's the card I created for my birthday girl..

Close up showing the little window in the front of the card

"Happy 4th Birthday Poppett" our little princess. You bring a smile to our face daily. I true little blessing to have around.

Birthday Loving with Helmar

Hello everyone..

Back again to share with you all some fun things you can do with Helmar products.
This layout came about because I wanted to try something different with Helmar Acid Free Glue.

I wanted to use the glue to create a unique background on the layout. After a bit of playing around I managed to get it right.

Okay.. so basically I had a stamped image that I wanted to highlight slightly without having to heat emboss the image with embossing powder. I had an old glue pen that I hadn't thrown away, despite the fact it was empty, that I had found while spring cleaning my scrap room a week ago. I gave it a good rinse and filled the pen with some Helmar Acid Free Glue. After testing that it flowed okay through the pen I then used the glue pen to highlight parts of the stamped image that I had watermark stamped into my background card stock. After allowing it to dry I was able to then distress the image with ink. I love the effect it has given me as it has a slightly glossy accent without all the hassle of heat embossing it.

And YES! I used my other favourite Helmar product again to raise the little bunting flags, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. So easy to do once they were stitched too.
