Creative Inspiration - Week 17 2015

Hello all.

We are heading into the last weekend of our school holidays here in South Australia. It has been a VERY busy time for my family with Graceful Girl performances for Calisthenics and my partner down for a visit.

In between I have been playing around with the last bits from the Teresa Collins - A Wonderful Life - paper range that Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent for me to play with.

I must admit to being a little sad to have finished with this paper range however as I have had so much fun creating so many goodies with it. I have got a teenie little bit left for some goodie bags for my daughters birthday but I will share those with you just before her big party in a few weeks.

Anyways... this week I am sharing with you a layout I have created of my two younger misses.
Once again I have worked with some card stock that I have had in my stash for what seems like forever. This card stock colour worked really well with the floral element of this paper range. I haven't played around with the floral part from the kit much at all this time.

It is a little hard to see however on the base card stock I have found a Kaiser craft stamp that was a similar floral pattern as the paper range. I have use dove grey staz on to randomly stamp the same floral arrangement across the page in the top left to the bottom right. I have then lightly inked the edges of the card stock with black. The die cut frames were also originally white however just didn't stand out when layered over the small paper doilies I wanted to use so I have used a black sharpie to colour them.

I have then used a combination of the die cut "together" and word sticker from the Wonderful Life sticker set to create my title. I have adhered the word sticker using 3D foam tape. I have then finished off the layout with a few gem circles that I have from my stash and some more word stickers where desired. They add that little bit extra but keep the layout looking a little clean.

Simple layout to create when things in life get a little busy.

Are you going to get a chance to play this weekend?

I am looking forward to getting started on the new kit I have been sent to play with.

Cant wait to share.

Creative Inspiration - Week 16 2015

Good morning everyone.

Hoping that everyone has had a good week.
Here it has been rather quiet with the kids visit with their Dad. I have however been able to get some scrap things sorted and finish off some of my weekly Project Life album.

I have also had a chance to get on top of all my scrap booking projects. This week I am here to share with you a layout I have created using some more of the Teresa Collins paper range
- It's a Wonderful Life.

So here's the layout I have created this week.
I am still trying to work on using some of the older pieces of card stock that I have in my stash. Some of the colour have just never really been my taste. However when I have bought card stock in the past I used to buy the pads of card stock. I quickly learnt that this wasn't such a great idea as I found I only really used about 5 colours in the pack. So with that in mind I am now slowly working through all the colours that I just have never used. This coloured card stock however matched perfectly with the paper range with a little bit of altering. I have lightly inked the edges with black ink and then used a graph stamp to randomly stamp the background with a stazon black ink pad that was a little dry.

Then it was just a case of layering the patterned paper till I was happy with their positioning. Here's you can see a number piece that i have created using the same digital number stamp that I have repeated numerous times and just altered the colour of them. I have also printed the photo off as a black and white print to create a contrast with the bolder colours in this paper range. I

I have then teamed the papers with a bold red washi and a ruler patterned washi tape. this ties in the black and white theme to the colours in the paper range. I have then kept it simple with the title by using a shaped paper clip adhered onto a craft journal spot. and a large chipboard number from my stash. I then finished off the bottom right corner with a lined paper bag from one of the Mad About Scrappin's sales, a white shipping tag, another kraft journal spot and some washi to finish it all off.

I love how the black and white on this just pops against the red based patterned paper from this range.

Was super quick to create but love it.

Have you had a chance to play this week?

Why not have a go this weekend.

Creative Inspiration - Week 15 2015

Hello.. hoping that everyone is having a super week.

I have been busy again using some more of this paper range by Teresa Collins - A Wonderful Life.

Still loving this range. Love how the red really pops out. With that in mind I got to work on another piece for my daughter birthday party. This week I wanted to work on something more for the table. Looking at the red in the kit really got me thinking of Alice in Wonderland and the Queen of Hearts.

Now with the whole tea party theme I got thinking that I wanted to alter a tea pot... So I raided my cupboard for the tea pot I just never use and decided to take the plunge. Here's what I came up with.

I must say I am pleased with how it turned out.. but it did take quite a bit of patience when I adhered the paper napkins to the shiny surface of the tea pot. I then enhanced it all with a bit of black to the top of the tea pot and spout. Then added some black ink here and there to show up the crinkle of the napkin.

Once I had adhered the sealer was completely dry I have added a paper doily and then a die cut frame as the starting base for my embellishments. I was super excited too as I manged to find a number 8 playing card in my stash which I have added a pink peg to and adhered before adding in the floral embellishments (it's my daughters' either birthday, so wanted it to be a bit symbolic).

You can see in this close up that as with the canvas I created last week I have once again used some of the paper range to create a vine. I have adhered a couple of these throughout the handle and then threaded the paper flowers from Mad About Scrappin around it as I desired. I love the super tiny aqua rose buds. They add just the tiny bit of colour pop with being too bold. I have woven a sheer white ribbon throughout the flowers too.

As you can see I have adhered the top of the tea pot on a bit tipsy giving it a bit of a wonderland feel. I have then added the famous Mad Hatter quote "Its always Tea time" printed onto card stock using the Alice in Wonderland font. this was then adhered to the teapot using 3D foam.

I have had so much fun creating goodies for the table centre piece. I cannot wait to see it all set up and promise to share when the day come.

Till next week.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Week 14 2015

Okay so HUGE apologies are due... This post WAS suppose to be up on Good Friday...

Yes.. I admit I was very naughty and completely forgot to set it to go. I have been majorly organised this past few weeks that I had thought I had set it... but between arguing with a parking ticket meter telling it was Friday when I thought it was Saturday (it was Friday so sorry parking meter lol), juggling making 80 parcels for Easter goodies for the kids school and forgetting to even buy Easter parcels till the last minute for my own kids cause I forgot about Easter lol... We have been very busy here with so much I needed to clone myself I think..lol..

Anyways.. to prove to you that I am super organised I have created something extra special this week using some more bits and pieces from the Teresa Collins paper range.

This week I have created and Off the Page canvas. My daughter has her birthday coming at the end of this week. Because this month is a busy month with calisthenics madness we have planned a party after the school holidays. She has decided she would like an Alice in Wonderland tea party theme. So I have started to work on some centre pieces for the table settings.

I started by covering the canvas with some torn paper napkins that matched the paper range which I adhered with a glue wash. I made sure they scrunched a bit when I adhered them to add some dimension. I then layered on a some paper doilies to break it up a little. Once it was all dry I painted the edges of the canvas black and then inked the the canvas to help some of the texture show up.

In the bottom right corner using some of the paper from the Teresa Collins paper range I have created some paper leaf vines. I used these as the base for where I have going to embellish the canvas. Some of the vines I have strengthened on some card stock by adhering them to card stock before cutting them out. The leaves on the vines were also folded up to to form a cup and add dimension to the canvas.

I have then added in a mix of paper flowers, green ribbon and a die cut paper frame to create the embellishment cluster.

I found a quote online which I have printed out using an Alice In Wonderland font. This I then cut out as individual words and have adhered using 3D foam. This has added a little bit of dimension.

I have then finished off the canvas by scattering the floral area with sequins which I adhered with dimensional magic. this added that little bit of sparkle.

I have been creating a few more things for her party which I cannot wait to share.

Till next share.. I promise to be on time.
