Creative Inspiration - Week 5 2015

Hello again everyone.

Back this week to share with you the last framed layout I created as part of the donated scrap booking vouchers for my girls Calisthenics team.

This would have to be my favorite of the two framed layouts I created.

Here's the finished framed layout.
This framed layout features a lot of texture and dimension. I have used an older paper range that I had sitting in my stash.

I have used a mix of card stock, paper doily and matching patterned paper to create the starting depths in this layout. I created the pennants using wood veneer shapes and covered them with the matching paper. I have then clustered them together using a mix of flowers from many Mad About Scrappin sales. I have been lucky enough to be able to get quite dimensional with the flowers as the frame is in a shadow box format.

You can see a bit more of the background here where I have used a stencil to mask the base card stock with a chicken wire fence look with white wash. I then hit the whole lime green card stock with some glimmer mists to match in aqua and melon. I finished off the floral clusters with some mixed pearl and clear sequins. They add a bit more of a feminine touch.

Here is a close up of the digital stamped 3x4 and 4x6 cards I created from some of the matching patterned paper. I finished the layout off with a mixed title using some acrylic alphas and some aqua glitter alphas.

I love how this turned out and am glad I have been collecting all my bits and pieces at every Mad About Scrappin online sale. It make creating easier when I have exactly what I need.

Have you played around with creating something different to what you normally create lately ?

Why not get creative this weekend.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 4 2015

Hello all.

This week I am sharing with you something a little bit different on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

Last year I donated two scrap booking vouchers to my girls Calisthenics Clubs raffle. I offered the winner a framed 12x12 layout of a 4'x6' photo of their choice. However..for both of the winners I did end up creating two layouts. Just couldn't help myself !

So this week I am showing you the first of the two framed layouts I have created for one of the lucky winners.

I love how this came out. It was a little bit of challenge at first as the photo had been laminated and was originally A4 in size. Plus the quality of the photo wasn't the best so this involved a little bit of mucking around with the photo in Photo shop Elements to get it to a quality I was happy to scrap with.

So here's the full framed layout I created.

I have started with a base card stock of bright lime green card stock to mat the slightly smaller cobalt blue card stock. Its a little hard to see but the cobalt blue card stock has been embossed with pearl coloured embossing powder using a script stamp as the pattern.

I have used a mix of patterned paper and some patterned tags from my stash as the base for this layout.I have also used a mix of flowers from Mad About Scrappin and some from my stash to cluster together on the top and both of the layout.

You can see in this photo a bit of a closer photo of the the digital stamps I have used to print onto some white card stock I had cut to 4x6 in size. I have then added some doilies from my stash as the base for the clusters of flowers on the layout. I have then finished off the layout using some pearl coloured sequins to add that little bit of sparkle.

I have then framed the whole layout using a 12x12 shadow box frame. This means that I have been able to be fairly dimensional with the layout and know that the whole layout is protected by the clear pvc front to the frame.

I have quite enjoyed creating this layout.

Well.. back to some spend family time with my kids.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 3 2015

Welcome back again...

Hope that everyone is having a great new year so far.

Here I have been busy enjoying no early morning school runs, no racing through breakfasts, and best of all not having to get through every one's homework in the afternoons.

We have been enjoying the nice weather we have had and best of enjoying being able to spend some time together as a family.

I have to admit however in the build up to the holidays to having made sure that I was able to get quite a bit of scrapping sorted to be able to spend time relaxing for a bit with my family. So with that in mind I have been using up the very last parts of this paper range to create the last two cards I needed for this month.

So here are the last two cards I have created.
Both rather simple and straight forward really. Have kept it simple as they were both masculine cards. Most of the bits and pieces have been from the kit, however I have added in some odd pieces from my stash.

For this one I have used the maroon patterned paper mounted onto some olive card stock. Then added a kraft paper envelope, a black and white journal card and some garden twine to twine it all together. Have finished off the card with a couple of wood veneers and then a quote from the matching stickers sheet to finish it all off.

For the last card I have worked with some more olive card stock to matt the maroon graph patterned paper from the range. Stamped some numerals on the graph as it is to be a birthday card. Mixed it up with a little washi tape and some mixed ephemera from my stash. Then finished it off with some stamped kraft photo corners and a matching quote stickers from the paper range.

Super quick and easy to make.. AND I got to use up all the scrap pieces from the kit.

Have you managed to get some scrapping done ?

Off to relax and enjoy some more family time.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 2 2015

Yes.. it's me..

Back again to share with you some super easy cards I have created using the scraps I have left over from this kit.

Will keep it quick this week as I am in the midst cleaning up after my youngest daughters sixth birthday party and dropping the kids to their Dads for a week.

It was been one hell of a busy week here that's for sure.

Luckily I had planned and scrapped these in advance or it would never have happened.

Anyways... here's the cards for this week.

I have used some recycled card bases to start with then mixed it up to create two very different birthday cards. One was for Ma Watt and one for my partner, Michael.

The card for Ma Watt was a mix of tan toned papers from the range, a mini paper bag, a kraft tag, and a die cut doily. Then I added some colour pop with a ruby red flower from Mad About Scrappin, some ribbons and some flowers from my stash. I then finished it off with a butterfly from my stash and the greeting made up of a word sticker from the matching set.

The second masculine card for my partner I threw together very quickly. I find masculine cards a bit harder so kept it simple with a mix of ephemera from my stash, some washi tape, stamping, kraft photo corner and a few stickers from the matching set to finish it all off.

I find I always struggle with cards so find if I get in and get it done real quick I don't have time to doubt what I am doing. I also layer it all onto the base till I like how it all fit then adhere too.

Well.. off to tidy up my house and get it back to normal.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 1 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

Wow !!!

I cannot believe that a new year has now started.

I hope that you all had an amazing New Years Eve.

So.. I know for my family this year will bring about a lot of new beginnings and changes. I am hoping that this year will be full of much happiness and that we will be able to move forward stronger than ever.

Anyway... I have been playing again with this kit to create a layout for you this week.

This was the last of  three layouts I have created using photos from a family that goes to my two daughters Calisthenics group. I loved this photo when I saw it and knew that I just had to scrap it. Seeings as it is the start of a new year too and my focus is about my family happiness I felt that scrapping this was appropriate. I have not seen such a family so happy together.

So here it is.

I have used a chocolate coloured card stock to matt some baseboard that I have added textured pasted vines and glimmer mist to. But before I did I distressed the edges and played around with some ink.
I have also added a few little peek a boo lace bits to add some texture to the page.
I have also added a few little peek a boo lace bits and some mixed sequins randomly to add some texture to the page. I love the look of adding sequins as they add a bit of sparkle without being too over the top. Plus they are super fun to play with too.

I have used a mixture of flowers from my stash. and clustered them together on the left side of the photo on a matching tag from the set and a paper doily. I  then used some bakers twine in the tag and have looped and draped it across the page then added some more sequins.

I also added in the last few die cut frames in the stash. I am quite sad that I have finished them all and MUST get some more. They have been so much fun to play with and add that little bit extra to a layout super easily. I have then finished off the layout by just using some of the matching stickers to create a title for the layout.

Well.. that's the first of many scrap booking posts I hope to share with you all this year.

I am looking forward to challenging myself and getting out and about to scrap more too.

Till next week.

Enjoy holidays.
