All about the "little" man in my life

Hello everyone,

It is absolutely freezing here in Adelaide, South Australia at the moment !

Mind you with all this really cold yuck weather it has been a busy time for me on the scrap booking front. The cold weather means that is has been a perfect time to scrap away the time.

I am going to keep this post a little short as I have another post I want to sneak in sharing the napkin technique I told everyone about during the Helmar Father's Day Blog Hop.

As the layout that I created using my napkin technique isn't really a masculine layout I thought I would show you a layout I did of my son using the same technique I will show you how to do shortly.

And before you ask.. "No" the photo below wasn't posed or prompted.. my son was just mucking around while we were on holidays in the Flinders Ranges when I took this photo. I was just VERY luck that he was where he was at the time and had my camera ready to go!

So for this layout once again I managed to get down and dirty with lots of Helmar. The layout has lots of texture and dimension and was so much fun to create.

The best bit of the layout however.. is that I know ALL the elements will stay where I put them thanks to Helmar 450, Helmar Tape Runner, Helmar, Acid Free Glue, Helmar Liquid Scrapdots AND Helmar Krystal Kote Fixative.

Sure is one layout LOADED with Helmar !

Birthday Wishes to a Special Little Friend

Something nice and bright and bubbly this week.

Miss Kiah and Mr Nate had a party of a little friend to attend so a card was called for.

Played around with some old left over chipboard alphas, texture paste, recycled card and water coloured digi image for this one.

Plus made a fancy paper ribbon trim using two of my favourite Fiskars Interchangeable punches.

Some Helmar Hopping Fun

Today we are so excited to share with you a variety of fantastic masculine projects.

We've put our Helmar arsenal to good use and want to share with you some inspiration for those last minute Fathers Day gifts.

If you have been following along, you should have hopped here from Carisa's blog.

If not, hop on back to the Helmar Blog and enjoy.

Make sure to leave comments along the way, because we will have prizes up for grabs.

AND....
If the Man in your life is super lucky, we may even send him a Helmar prize pack too.

Even though Father's Day here in Australia isn't till September, I love being organised!

It was great to be able to get some cards sorted for my father and father in law now to pop into my card box.

Especially as masculine cards can be a little difficult to create.

Well not this time thanks to a little bit of help from Helmar.
Card for my Father in Law

Card for my Dad
Remember keeping it simple is the key to getting cards done quickly!
And just because I was so super organised I was able to get down and dirty with lots of Helmar and created a layout about my husband's love of 4WDing!

The secret to this layout was lots of Helmar Acid Free Glue, Paper Napkins, Texture Paste and not being afraid to make a major mess and just go with it...

But you will have to check out how I use this technique next week with another layout I created using the same technique!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Now hop on over to Julie's blog where you are sure to find more Fathers Day inspiration.

If you get lost along the way, below you will find the links for the order of the hop.

A little of messy birthday fun

Hello everyone..

I am here today on behalf of

To share with you what crafty goodness I have been up to.

Here in Adelaide we have just had a long weekend... which has meant after all the medial household chores had been done I have been able to get down and dirty with my scrapping supplies.

So I pulled out these goodies and got to work

Who would have though that a few napkins and some Helmar adhesives I could have so much fun making such a big mess!

I used a glue wash I had made up, using watered down Helmar Acid Free Glue and water till I had a gravy type consistency. I started by adhering old book pages onto some recycled card  that was about 1.5mm think. Gave the stability that I like without causing any warping. I also used my Helmar glue spreader to get rid of any nasty bubbles and to spread the glue wash over the top evenly.

Started to layer the book paged base with single layers of contrasting napkin pieces I had cut up randomly.

Then I gave the whole piece a coating with a mixture of a little glue wash and white paint. This helped to mute the colours down and also gave that extra protection.

I pulled some contrast paper from my stash and made up a few things for the front of the card.
Then I inked to my hearts content theses

along with the card base and the napkin centre piece.
I even stamped with a script stamp randomly around the edges of the napkin piece to add that extra dimension.
Little hint.. to prevent my ink from running I gave the napkin piece a coat of Helmar Krystal Kote Workable Matte Medium.. no nasty running or smudging!

Here's what the cards started to look like once I had added these little bit, some ink and some mini alpha stickers for the greeting... still needed some thing though so I kept going...

From a little piece of the scrap card that I had covered I stamped a butterfly image and cut it out. This really made a simple embellishment that complimented the card perfectly.

I then added a little bling (whats a card without a little BLING!!) and some twine and adhered the butterfly to the card with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. Added some staples to the garden twine to add a little bit extra and that was it... The card was all done!

And here's a look at the finished card. All ready to be sent off to a lucky lady who's birthday is coming up this week.

Hope you enjoyed checking out what I have been busily crafting.

Why not head over to

to grab some goodies to get creating your self today.

Or sit back with a cuppa and check out what the Chattering Robin's have been up to on the blog.

Till later, Happy crafting, M x

A Punching Event !

Here's my Focus card for this week.

A card I made for my Mother in Law's Birthday.

Nice and bright and bold.. just the way she likes her cards.

Once again played with my Fiskars Interchangeable Punches.

With Much Sadness in Our Hearts

Hey there.

Back this week with a somber type of card.

Had my father's Uncle pass away and was asked to make a card to send over to Holland to the family.

This week I pulled out some old favourite Fiskars punches to make some flowers for the card.
