Creative Inspiration - Week 48

Hello.. hello.. hello.

My goodness... this year is fast coming to an end.. I am a little shocked that it is almost Christmas!!

Anyway.. this week I am back to share with you a fun layout I have created
for Mad About Scrappin using some more of this kit.

So here's this weeks layout...
Okay.. so don't have a shock.. I know.. I have scrapped more than one photo!!! Not something I normally do but when I saw these photos I just couldn't decided which ones to use to document our beach day.

Anyways... I have used the more muted colours from this paper range. I have found so far that this kit has been very versatile. I love the fact that there are so many different options with using the kit. This week I have focused on the greys and whites from this paper range. I have done this because I really wanted to use photos from our holiday at the beach and found that the rest of the paper range didn't work with the colours as well.

I used a chipboard word arrow to created the title for the layout. I have then mixed up some alpha and work stickers to journal. I have layered the alpha stickers on top of a small lined journal card.

I have created a feature part on the layout with a few smaller photos added into a white photo frame strip down the side of the larger photos. I found this a great way to add a few extra photos to the layout without taking up too much space.

I have also added some paper doilies from my stash and some more die cut frames to add a bit of dimension to the page. I have then finished off the layout by adding some silver sequins I have in my stash to add a bit of sparkle to the layout.

Well off to get some more Christmas work sorted before the silly season hits.

Have a great weekend.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Week 47

Hello.. Hello.. Hello !!!

Back this week with a fun pocket page that I have created using this kit of behalf of
Mad About Scrappin

This week I have created a pocket page for a change. I felt a little like mixing it up and found some super fun photos to use for this from our trip to Victor Harbor in the last school holidays.

So here it is....
Have played around with the more muted colours in this paper range to create this layout. I must say that I am quite enjoying playing around with pocket pages. I love that you are able to use each pocket to tell a story for itself or use the pocket to create an overall effect as a 12'x12' layout.

I have used the plainer paper as the base for three of the pockets and have added some digital stamps to them to mix it up a little. I have then lightly and randomly stamped using my hand as the stamp block using a graph stamp. I then layered some doilies, old alphas stickers that I have coloured using a permanent marker and some die cut frames.

I even added a little bicycle journal card to this pocket and then finished it off by adding some dew drops from my own stash. They are fun to play with and as they are clear show through the colours below them.

For my title I have mixed it up a little and used a combination of bright bold alphas stickers for the main part of the title and then 3D mounted some white alpha stickers for the remaining title. On the pockets with the photos I have kept it simple with the matching paper matt which I have stamped with the graph stamp, added some bold washi to match and finished them off with a chipboard wood arrow. Super fun and easy.

Well.. off to get some house chores done.... unfortunately I cant scrap this weekend as I will be busy with kids friend's parties and kids in the local Christmas pageant. However will be lots of perfect photo opportunities this weekend for future scrapping.

Enjoy your weekend.

Creative Inspiration - Week 46

My Goodness!!!!

The weeks to this year just seem to be screaming by at the moment.

I am back this week to share some creative inspiration with you on behalf of Mad About Scrappin using this paper range.

This week I have been playing around with some photos from our recent family holiday to
Victor Harbor and I found this really good photo of Miss J
(a rarity for sure!! as she avoids the camera.. not my child at all lol).

Here's the layout I have created this week.
Now I have to admit that this wood grain paper in this pack kinds frightened me. I really was not sure what to do with it. It was too big a pattern to use as a card base so I decided to play around with using it for the base of my layout. I have trimmed it slightly and matted it onto some chocolate card stock. Then I have just layered the patterned paper and photo till I was happy with the positioning and adhered it all down. I have to admit to being a little crazy with the hand cutting for this one too as I hand cut the main title word for this page. I found it quite therapeutic...lol

Then once again I went a little crazy with the hand cutting and cut of the flowers from the patterned paper. I have then layered then onto some doilies and some copper wire that Leanne sent me in the pack. I LOVE this stuff as it is so much fun to play with.

I have added some dew drops from my stash to the centres of the flowers. I love these as they are clear so they show through the colours on the paper. They have added some extra dimension to the flowers too.

Been a while since I have played around with fussy cutting and have to admit I found it fun for a change.

Well off to get creative for the weekend here.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 45

Hello all.

I am back this week to share with you a couple of quick cards
I have created on behalf of Mad About Scrappin.

Once again I have been playing around with some more of this product range.

So here's the cards I have created this week.
I have had a run of birthdays on for October and November. So I have tried to stay on top of things by creating cards in my favourite 4'x4' size. I find this size great to create when you are a little time poor or have to create a pile of cards in a hurry. Both of the cards have been created with a girlie feel this time around too.

My first card was for my niece's birthday. I sometimes struggle making birthday cards for teenagers, however I do find teenage girls that love all things girlie just that little bit easier. I have gone with the bolder darker patterned paper in the range for this card and used some lighter grey card stock as the card base. With a little bit of inking and stamping to the blue floral paper I have added a bit of dimension to the base layer. I have them coloured the die cut doily black and mounted in using 3D foam to the centre. I have then clustered the flowers and wood veneer butterfly. I then added some bling and the number greeting using 3D foam.

The second card came together rather quickly. I sanded the edges of both the card base and the base patterned paper I used for the base of the card. I then stamped the base patterned paper with dove grey ink. Then added a doily I had cut in half and layered. Added a tag I made from some scrap card stock I had stamped and then sanded to age it. I finished off the card with some ribbon and flowers clustered with a hat pin. Super simple but a nice feeling card for a special friends birthday.

Well.. off to get some more scrap work sorted.

Enjoy your weekend and get creative.
