Creating with a bit of texture

Hello again, Michelle here back to share what I have been playing with lately from

Have had a pile of recycled card here that has been perfect for textured paste.
That is because when I play with texture paste it tends to be a very messy thick process.

So after creating a base from many layers of texture paste, gesso spray and numerous glimmer mists I was finally able to get creating with some yummy products from The Robin's Nest.

I must say I majorly in love with dew drops still. They tend to be a feature in all my layout lately.

So... Here's the products I played with this time around.

Now using all these goodies made it super easy to create this layout. The papers and background  have so much texture that I kept the layout rather simple. Plus the fact I really like how the two colours really compliment each other and make the photo really pop.

Here is the finished layout.

So.. why not pop over to the shop and check out all the yummy new products that are on offer.

Mad About Scrappin September Kit

More scrapping shares for you.

Have been scrapping away lately I think I am starting to look like a piece of card stock.

And this month was no exception.

This month the lovely Leanne from Mad About Scrappin sent such a yummy kit to play with that I ALMOST could bear to ACTUALLY cut up the paper in the kit.

However...

I got stuck into it and came up with these two layouts.

I also created a layout for the Mad About Scrappin September challenge too using leftover bits and pieces from the kit.

Why not check out the store and see what other goodies Leanne has for you there.

I guarantee that you will find something there you will want to scrap with.

And here's my take on the sketch.
Played around with some scraps from one of my Mad About Scrappin kits to create this one.

Think I have used this template a far bit lately.
So much fun and adds that little bit of pop to the base of your layout so easily.

So... why not give this month's sketch challenge a go.

Entries due by midnight the 25th of September.

Up for grabs is a $10 voucher to be spent in store!

Enjoy!!!

Mad About Scrappin July Kit

A few month's ago I received as my Mad about Scrapping Design Team kit was lots of fun to play with as well as being cram packed with lots of dance themed goodies.
I have been rather naughty and have forgotten to share and have found it buried under a pile of scrapbooking posts.

I was lucky enough to be able to scrap a fellow Helmar Design Team member and friend gorgeous daughter. I would have loved to have been able to scrap my daughter however when I got these photos I couldn't resist. She just looked so angelic. Plus the fact the paper just matched the colour photos perfectly.

For the first layout I actually used some pasteboard as the base. Was perfect for it as I played around with a hand cut butterfly template, texture paste, super fine glamour glitter, glimmer mists and gesso to get the desired effect. I then made my flowers using various punches and the paper from the kit.

The second layout involved lots of background stamping and inking. I was also able to create lots of dimension to the layout using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to the embellishments. I also finished the layout of by using a journalling pen to make faux stitch lines

For the last layout I played around with some embossing powder to the base card stock. And yes... I did go a little bit crazy on this layout... all the paper patches HAVE been hand stitched !!! Took a while but very happy with the end result. And the sheer flowers had extra dimension added to them. I used the scalloped wire ribbon to make a cup like shape to sit the flower on. Kinda looks like extra petals to the sheer flower.

So.. still have lots of goodies from this kit to play with because it is so crammed packed full of fun things to play with.

Why not check out the Mad about Scrapping shop now...

Butterfly Kisses

Hello all.

Been scrapping to my hearts content lately.

However I must say that it has been nice to just create a little something that is quick and easy for a change.

So with a little help from my favourite Helmar products I sent to work create a card that is going postal this week.

So.. with the word simple in mind I grabbed some recycled card as my card base. I distressed some scraps of patterned paper and secured them all nicely with my Helmar Adhesive Tape Runner.

I then used some more Helmar Adhesive Taper Runner to secure some organza ribbon to the card and tied it in a nice big bow. I love the look of big bows on cards as I think they add that little bit of pop without any huge effort. I also like to secure them with some Helmar Adhesive Tape Runner, that way they don't move around and look messy.

So once all that was done I added tow final embellishments to my card.

The first embellishment was some metal corners, HUGE kisses to the AMAZING Rae Cooper for her generosity in sending me these goodies to play with.

And secondly I added some stamped butterflies that I kindy glitzed and hand cut.

Now to add that extra pop and dimension to my butterflies I secured them to the card using my FAVOURITE Helmar product.. and one I can never seemed to have enough of, Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots.

I love how Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots can add dimension to a card so quickly. It is super easy to use and you can add as little or a lot as you like to create different heights.

I am off to continue creating up a storm here.

Why not pull out some Helmar products and have a play.

Thanks for stopping by.

Spreading the love around

Hello all.

Michelle here from sunny Adelaide, South Australia.

With all the bright and sunny weather here lately I have been busy still hiding inside creating up a storm.

Well it has been fun though as I have been wanting to share the love around.

Now what better way to do that than creating a quick card with these fun Robin's Nest products.

So.. armed with these products I set to work to create a card for some special.
With the idea in mind to keep it simple and let the products do the talking for me.

Because the damask paper on the background is nicely embossed it provides the card with a glossy background. With a little bit of help from a bit of ink I was able to make the background really pop.

Then it was just a case of layering all goodies and stamping lightly on the paper doily to help it not look quite as stark white against the damask.

I then also added the clear dew drops to the journal spot stamp to help from the greeting on the card. Because the dew drops are clear it allowed the colour to show though and still created dimension to the card.
So super quick and easy card created yet with a very bold effect.

Remember.. sometime it pays to keep it simple and let your products do all the talking.
Why not pop over to
