Creative Inspiration - Week 12 2015

Hello everyone.

I hope that everyone has been having a fun month of March so far.

Here we have been busy with preparing for one of my daughters to do her first ever solo performance for Calisthenics for Graceful girl. We have had extra solo practice sessions added to the mix of weekly practices to her Calisthenics routine. This means that at the moment three out of 7 days of the week have been filled with Calisthenics. It keep us busy but it is so good to see how far the girls have come with the sport they love.

Anyway.... when I haven't been chasing girls to and from Calisthenics I have been madly scrapping away with some more of this Teresa Collins paper range from Mad About Scrappin.

This week I have played around with a few photos of one of my daughters when she was mucking around in my scrap room to create this layout.
I played around a little with this layout using a bold coloured card stock as my base. I have then use minimal patterned paper but what I have used was the more bolder brighter side. I have also stitched a little here and there on this layout the give this a little bit of texture. I really wanted to keep it very simple.

The paper range has a matching sticker set which has some pennant flag stickers. I decided to use these as my embellishments on this layout. I added some bakers twine and then adhered the pennant flags to the twine using a bit of 3D foam to give them dimension to match up with the height of the twine. I have used a date flag to add a little bit of a feature to this layout at the top over lapping some matching patterned paper from the range.

I have then finished off the layout using some more of the matching stickers from the range to add a few accents here and there. Some I have attached using 3D foam to give a bit of dimension.

This week I have really kept it simple because I really didn't have a lot of time to scrap.

What sort of things do you create when you are time poor ?

Well.. till next week.

Get creative.

Creative Inspiration - Week 11 2015

Hello all...

Well its Friday the 13th...

No.. I am not superstitious...

I am however in love with the colours in this paper range by Teresa Collins sent to me to play with by Mad About Scrappin

So with no further ado here's this weeks creation.

The photo I had I really wanted to play with however it just didn't go with the colours in the paper range. So instead I have turned the photo to black and white. I have then stuck to this basic colour scheme and added just a few pops of colour from this paper range. I have also found a super old large playing card in my stash that worked really well as a base for the photo. I have also used a few pops of pink to help this layout have a bit of a feminine feel as it is my three girls I am scrapping about.

I have used washi as a border for the whole layout again. I find this a quick way to add that little extra plus the white card stock looked a bit empty without a border.
I have also been playing around with different types of paper clips a bit lately and have found the owl shaped office paper clips are perfect to add a bit of washi tape to to make a pennant clip.
Have added a few to the layout to create some interest here and there.

Yes... I was a little crazy when I designed this layout. I wanted to use hexagons on this page. So I have created hexagons that are 1.5' in size from the patterned paper. Then have created my own pattern as the base for this layout on the white card stock. I have then used some pink floss to add some stitching as a feature on a few of the layouts. Super easy and fun too. To carry the stitched theme I have added some extra stitch lines and then finished the layout off with some acrylic pink alphas from my stash.

I love how this has turned of and had heaps of fun creating this to share.

Well off to enjoy the day.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 10 2015

Hello everyone.

Wow... March already... this year just seems to be zooming past.

This week I am back to share with you a new kit that I was sent to play with
by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin.
The kit was full of lots of goodies to play with from the "Something Wonderful" collection
by Teresa Collins.

So here's the layout I have created this week.
I have stuck with two of the colours from the kit to create this layout. I have teamed the colours up with some black and white card stock, as I wanted to colours to pop out. On the white card stock I have grabbed an old Kaiser flower stamp set and stamped a mix of the different size flowers. I then stamped some of the same flowers onto some water colour paper using Staz on ink. I then gave them a light spray with fixative then water coloured them to match with the patterned paper. They have then been adhered to the page using 3D foam to create dimension.

Hidden just behind the white tag is another little paper bag from my stash. I wanted to add some pink to this layout as I love black, white, red and pink together. I have then added a mix of washi tape, red and white twine and a cute little chalkboard pennant flag to finish it all off.

I finished off the stamped flowers by add some teenie sequins that Leanne sent me for last months kit. They were so cute and were perfect to add that little bit of sparkle to the centre of the flowers.

Super quick layout create but had fun playing around with some older stamps and some water colour to tie the layout all together.

Well back to getting some scrap work done.

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 9 2015

Hello all.

Back this week to show you the last layout I have created using the last bits of this kit sent to me by Leanne at Mad About Scrappin.

So here's the layout I created ...
I had fun with this layout mixing up the patterns a bit. I have tied it all together by using a piece of kraft card stock as my base. I stamped the base of the kraft card stock using a graph clear stamp randomly using my hand as the block for it.

I have layered it up a little for this layout using a mix of the patterns from the pack, a paper doily and some graph project life journal cards.
I then finished it off with a washi tape boarder to finish it all off.

I have mixed up the title a bit using a some of the matching alphas stickers from the set and word I have printed onto card stock which I have hand cut. I have then added a coat of dimensional magic to add some gloss and dimension.

I mixed up the embellishments a little with a mix of word stickers from the kit, a digital image I have printed onto white card stock, a kraft journal spot and some chalk board pennant flags I purchased at a Mad About Scrappin sale.

Lastly just to show you that I do use up all my scraps...
I created a pocket page (trading card size) for a pen pal over in America.
I love these pocket pages and such a great way to use up all the teenie little pieces I just cant part with.

Well.. till next week.

Have a creative weekend.

Creative Inspiration - Week 8 2015

Hello again.

I have had a very busy week this week. With getting used to new sports routines and changes to school classrooms  the kids and I have found it a bit of a juggle to get back on track. I know that we will get there but I can see that it will take a few weeks.

With that in mind I am busily trying to get everything sorted and back into school mode around the house.

And yes.. I am one of those crazy routine Mum's that thrive on a strict routine.. it keeps me sane.. especially when I am trying to keep track of four kids on my own..lol

Created a couple of cards this week as I am slowly coming to the end of this paper range.

So here is this weeks share.
Two very quick cards created in a very busy week. Love how they turned out and glad that I was able to use up some more of this kit.

Kept the first card simple. I cut out the shapes from scraps of the paper kit and adhered them to a graph 4x6 journal card from my stash. I then wrapped the card in some red/blue and white twine. Then added a kraft journal spot I had grabbed at the last Mad About Scrappin sale (wishing now I had grabbed more as they are divine!!!!). I added the greeting using some acrylic alphas from my stash. Then I finished off the card with some star stickers from the matching sticker set and some clear dew drops from my stash.

The second card was for my partner for Valentines Day. Wanted to create something just that little bit different. I stamped the kraft patterned paper then matted it onto some blue card stock as the card base. The added a strip of red striped paper that I had matted on some white card stock. With a journalling pen I added in some stitch lines then adhered a blue patterned paper circle I had adhered to  a large chipboard circle for depth. The people symbols I printed from the computer and then hand cut them out. I finished them off with some blue acrylic letters for the "x o". Finally finished off the card by creating a red bling heart made from the teenie sequins Leanne sent me to play with. Super cute and finished the card off perfectly.

Well.. till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 7 2015

A very cheery "HELLO" to everyone !!!

I hope that this post find everyone well and managing to find some to to get some craft things done.

Here I have been busy with the kids heading back to school, getting the house back to normal and sanding back an old set of bedside tables that I was given.

Oh.. and have managed to get some creative time in there too !!

With that in mind I am back to share what I have created this week using some more of this kit sent to me by Mad About Scrappin.

This week I have managed to get a layout created using a photo of my youngest daughter. As I mentioned last week she just turned six years old so I have a bucket load of super cute photos of her from her birthday.

So here's this weeks layout.
This was a super quick layout I created using the same photo I printed twice. I printed one in color and the other in black and white as a bit of a contrast on the layout. I decided to stick with the navy and red colours from this paper range. I stamped the red card stock and them inked it as the red wasn't quite a match for the red in the patterned paper. By then adding in some white card stock it gave the two red a bit of a barrier so that it was less noticeable that they weren't a perfect match.

The white card stock I felt was a little too stark so I decided to stamp away with some dove grey stazon using a kaiser number stamp from my stash. That carried on with the birthday theme I felt.

The polaroid I jazzed up a little with a few bit of ephemera that I had in my stash. I then finished off the layout with some garden twine, some wood veneer stars, a couple of flairs, and some bling stars to add a bit of sparkle on the layout.

I had fun playing around with this paper range this week.

Well it's going to be a hot weekend here so off to hide away and get creative,

Till next week.

Creative Inspiration - Week 6 2015

Hello again.

So starts another month. With the start of a new month comes some new products to play with. As normal Leanne from Mad About Scrappin
has surprised me with some amazing goodies to showcase.

I was lucky this month to have this kit sent to me to play with...

Now for something just a little different I decided to start using this kit off with a bang. To explain a little .... recently my youngest daughter had her sixth birthday. Now as part of the party preparation I bought some paper party bags from Coles.

As most of you know I just cant leave a party bag the way they come... I just HAD to personalise them. So I set to work collect all the bits and pieces I would need. I made little flags using some of the red and white striped paper in the kit. Then cut some tags from the kraft coloured paper. Once again I have played around with some digital stamps to create the 6 - celebrate cards. I printed these onto some graph 4x6 cards in my stash and jazzed them up with some matching washi tape.

So here's the finished bags once I had assembled them all.

I had some old bingo cards in my stash that I decided to use as the base for all my decorations. I sanded the edges to tone them down just a little. I also finished the flags off with a gold glittered star to add that little bit of sparkle. Quite enjoyed jazzing these plain bags up and the kids just loved them.

Now.. as it was Miss Ts birthday I decided once I had finished the bags, that I would carry the theme over to her card. I cut up the base of the party bag to use as the background for this card.

To add a bit more dimension to the card I used a journal calendar spot from Mad About Scrappin. I finished off the spot using some mini alphas to add in the month and year of her 6th birthday.

Now to finish off the who card I wanted to add some sparkle. This was easily done with a bit of help from these super cute teenie sequins Leanne sent me. I just randomly applied adhesive the sprinkled the sequins and some iridescent glitter. Super easy and fun to make such a mess creating.

Had had a great time creating with this paper range.

Cannot wait to share some other bits I have created over the next month.

Till then.... TFL, M x
